MCP Census and mcp.so
mcp.so is a community directory for discovering MCP servers. The MCP Census checks public evidence and returns PASS, REVIEW, BLOCK, or UNKNOWN. A directory listing is not that decision.

| What they say | Their FAQ says: “mcp.so is a community-driven platform that collects and organizes third-party MCP Servers.” The homepage also says “Discover useful MCP servers” and lists clients, CLI tools, and agent skills, not only servers. | Public-evidence gate. Not a marketplace and not a featured-server store. |
| Operator | The pages read on this date did not name a company. This page does not invent one. | Jaco Veldsman, Australia. |
| Submit | Their FAQ says you submit a server by opening a GitHub issue. | /submit queues a missing server for an evidence check. It does not feature it. |
| Security wording | Their FAQ answers a general question about the MCP protocol. That answer is theirs. We do not treat it as a verdict on any listed server. | We do not say a server is safe to run. UNKNOWN is not a pass. |
